La Herradura and Almuñecar are the most popular places at the Costa Tropical for Paragliding or Hanggliding during the wintermonths in Europe. The flightseason starts the end of September until April approximately. You will often see clusters of beautiful, multi-colored parachutes gliding slowly down from the mountains towards the La Herradura bay. This location by the coast, surrounded by mountain ranges, allows for perfect glides that set off from high cliffs and descend down onto its quiet horseshoe shaped bay. No other region can offer so many Take-Off's for almost all wind directions.
