Traditional Flamenco artists never received any formal training. They learned by listening and watching relatives, friends or neighbours. Some artists are still self -taught, but nowadays it is more usual for dancers, guitarists and even singers to be professionally trained. More guitarists read music and even study other styles like classical or jazz and many dancers take courses in contemporary dance or ballet as well flamenco. But still the quality of the flamenco depends on the spontanious expression of the dancer!

The Flamenco dance classes wil take place in a nice ambiance. Total beginners and experienced dancers are equally welcome.

Beginners can expect to learn the basic steps and posture of flamenco, a little about the history and culture of the dance and music, practice choreographed routines, and learn the distinctive arm and hand gestures.  Those with some experience will be able to improvise, improve their technique, learn new skills such as using props (fan, shawl, castanets), or simply dance for fun.
